Freeman Dyson hypothesised that a sufficiently advanced culture, which had outgrown the confines of a single world. Would be able to engineer colossal artificial structures, containing a liveable atmosphere and trillions of miles of hospitable land. These structures would encircle a star, providing all the energy an advanced culture would ever need.

If humanity survives its adolescent squabbles, could we be capable of such a titanic endeavour?
